Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Rocky Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 3498 Concord Church Road, Ellaville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Obie Moore was born on December 16, 1946 in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Ananias Moore and the late Elizabeth Kemp Moore. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Moore and Ronnie Moore, and one sister: Ruby Moore. Obie attended the public school system of Schley County and was a graduate of John Lewis High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. After serving his country proudly, Obie went on to live in Cleveland, Ohio for several years where he was employed as a case manager. He joined the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. After returning home to Georgia, Obie was employed with the State of Georgia where he worked faithfully until his retirement. On November 22, 1997, two hearts became one when he was joined in holy matrimony to Louise Ford Allen.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife of twenty years, Louise Moore, Decatur, Georgia; three children, Alonzo D. Allen (Edris), Covington, Georgia, Rena Kitko, Columbus, Georgia, and Steven Kitko (Lynette), Brunswick, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ronetta Kitko, Maurice Thompson, Sr., Julian McWorther, Kyla Allen; seven great grandchildren: Ayviauna Kitko, Aydriana Thompson, Janet Kitko, Jadyn Kitko, Julian McWorther, Maurice Thompson, Jr.; siblings, Mary J. Moore Howard (Bennie Smith), Cleveland, Ohio, George Moore (Josie), Eatonton, Georgia, Clara P. Harvey (Joe), Atlanta, Georgia, Dennis Moore (Albena), John Moore (Sandra), Myra Moore and Virga L. Moore, all of Ellaville, Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethelene Moore, Atlanta, Georgia, Maude Williams Moore, Anchorage, Alaska, Linda Neal (Lee), Okolona, Mississippi, Bernice Burnet (Jerry), Huntsville, Alabama, Darnell Gardener (Lynn), Fairfield, Alabama, and Delesia Godfrey (Al), Birmingham, Alabama, and Lavern Pugh, Birmingham, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Obie was a very fun, loving person; always upbeat with a joke. He loved to be outdoors, fishing, hunting, walking around the farm and enjoying the fresh air and all of the wonderful elements God had provided.
