The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 11, 2019 at Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, 415 Hosie Waters Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, Rupert, Macon County, Georgia.
Mrs. Nina was born on September 28, 1924 in Ellaville, Schley County, to the late Jessie Martin Turner and the late Ruby Brooks Turner. She was preceded in death by five siblings, Charlie Frank Turner, James Turner, R.B. Turner, Allen Turner, and Mildred Turner Allison. At an early age Nina accepted Jesus Christ and her personal Savior. She was a member of Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia she first joined Bread of Life Church and moved to Emmaus Road Baptist Church where she served as the mother of the church. She was educated through the local public school system. Nina worked for the public school system of Macon County as a cook/server for several years. She was also employed as a Nursing Assistant with Flint River hospital in Montezuma, Georgia for many years.
Nina was joined in holy matrimony to the late L.D. Hinton, Sr., and to this union eight children were born. Three sons preceded her in death Kenneth O’Neal Hinton, Willie Jessie Hinton, and L.D. Hinton Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Doris (Dee) Powell, East Point, Georgia, Bobette Hinton Shields, Americus, Georgia, Bonnie Hinton, Union City, Georgia, Carl Hinton (Natalie), College Park, Georgia, and Ruby Hinton Patrick (Freddie), Decatur, Georgia; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; siblings Vurla Mae Terry, Atlanta, Georgia , and Herbert Turner, Albany, Georgia; two daughters –in- love, Christine Hinton, Montezuma, Georgia , and Ozella Hinton, Ellaville, Georgia; Sisters- in -love Ethel Hinton, Ideal, Georgia, Shari Turner, Gainesville, Florida, and Edith Turner, Miami, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
