
The funeral service will be conducted at 1;00 P.M., Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Road, Ellaville, Georgia. Reverend Freddie Baisden will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Volley was born September 20, 1948 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia to Ola Mae Murray Smith and the late Carl Jackson. She was a 1966 graduate of John Lewis High School. At an early age she joined the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church whereas she attended Sunday school and sang in the choir. She joined the Job Corp in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also attended Temple University of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1987, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Edward Volley. She held various jobs in the Americus community including working at the Americus High School as a Librarian and she was a great homemaker.
She leaves loving memories to her beloved family, including her husband, Edward Volley, her children, Stacey Willis (Michael), Chandler, and Floyd Jackson, Her beloved mother Ola Mae Murray Smith (Mr. L.C. Smith); three grandchildren, Michael Willis, Jr., Miklela Willis and Myles Willis; five siblings, Bertha Anne Carter (Larry), Leola Wilson (Marvin), Deborah Pitts (Marshall), Phyllis Wright (Archie), and Timothy Smith (Angela); three nieces, Michelle Dyer (Chris), Angela Wilson, and Andrea Lundy; three nephews, Clyde Daryl Slappey (Kamolrat), Alex Slappey (Gabrielle), and Eric Carter; aunts and uncle, Carrie Baisden Varner, and Irene Kleckley (Henry); sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law, Aldene Monts (Michael), Charlei Mae Woods (Willie), Fannie Mae Flowers (Tyrone), and Connie Cooper, Robert Lee Robinson and Willie Charles Battle; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
