The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 26, 2022, at First United Holiness Church, 325 Engram Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Mother Harris was born November 22, 1933, in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late Sylvester Hillmon Sr. and Ruby Hill Hillmon. She was preceded in death by six siblings: Mattie Lou Hillmon Wiggins, Napoleon Hillmon, Minnie Jewel Hillmon, Sylvester Hill Jr., Hattie Bell Hillmon, Linda Clayton. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Cleveland Harris Sr. Mother Harris was also preceded in death by four children Francis Harris, Charlie Louis Harris Bertha Spencer, and Cleveland Harris, Jr. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Jehovah Baptist Church and later First United Holiness Church and the United Holiness Headquarter.
Left with a legacy of love and many fond memories are three daughters, Mattie Taylor (Eddie), Atlanta, Ga, Cleola Fudge, Albany, Ga, Lawestine Harris, Atlanta, Ga; five grandchildren Cornelius Spencer, Robin Spencer, Austin Tobias, Ashton Tobias; 3 great grandchildren Raegan Spencer, Jasmine Spencer, Cameron Spencer; one sister, Bessie C. Tookes (John), Montezuma, Georgia; a loving son-in-law, Superintendent Robert Spencer; special family friend, Willie C. Edwards; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and beloved church family of the United Holiness Churches.
