The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Shady Grove Baptist Church, White Water Road, Ideal, Georgia, where Reverend David Thomas is pastor. Reverend Rodney Duncan, pastor of Hopewell Independent Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Morris Lewis Brown, Sr. was born October 16, 1974 in Reynolds, Taylor County, Georgia to M. L. Ellis and the late Zera Mae Brown Ellis. He was educated in the public school system of Fulton County where he was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School of Atlanta, Georgia. He was employed as a forklift driver with Blue Bird Body Company of Ft. Valley, Georgia. He was the beloved son of the late Zera Mae Brown Ellis; the maternal grandson of the late Bobbie and Eugene Ivory and Willie James Town; the paternal grandson of the late Marie Ellis Meadows and the late Brown Turner, Jr.
Survivors are his beloved father, M. L. Ellis, Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Shantel Brown (her fiance, Willie Griffin), Oglethorpe, Georgia; his six children, Satajah Whitehead, Ellaville, Georgia, Morrisha Brown, McDonough, Georgia, Morris Brown, Jr., McDonough, Georgia, Akiyah Brown, Montezuma, Georgia, Unique Hudson, Ft. Valley, Georgia and Zaiden Brown, Ideal, Georgia; his aunts and uncles and their spouses, Barbara Harp (Tarry), Angela Grady, Gwen Leggett (Christopher), Helen Ivory, Patricia Ivory (Katarrius) Fulks, Roosevelt Meadows (Gloria), Gloria Ivory James, Shirley Ivory, Clarice Hicks, Alma Ree Wiggins, Eugene Ivory (Alex), Eric Ivory (Tivisha), Reverend Rodney Duncan (Velma), and Ethel Adams; great uncles and great aunts, James Brown, Joe Walton, Eva Bell Rogers, Major (Rebecca) Ivory, Jeannie Kendrick, Sidney Ivory, Oseola Ivory and Robert Taylor; two loving and devoted nieces, Shanteneka Hubbard and Zeraiah Griffin; a companion, Brittany Gordon; a host of beloved friends including, Jessie Kendrick, Gary Brown, Kareem Burnam, Michael Coates, Ronald Cochran and Robert Hallett.
