The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., at Faith Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Brooks Road, Ideal, Georgia, where the Reverend Ezekiel Terry is pastor. Reverend Rodney Duncan, pastor of New Home Baptist Church of Buena Vista, Georgia, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Monroe Byse was born February 9, 1934 in Ideal, Macon County Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Ben Byse and Mamie Byse. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He joined Hopewell Baptist Church. He was joined in holy matrimony to late Annie Jean Sims Byse.
He is survived by eight children, Shelby Byse, (Shemika), Alvin Sims (Beverlyn), Fort Valley, Georgia, John Monroe Byse, Jr. (Anna), Houston, Texas, Gloria Byse, Atlanta, Georgia, Gwendolyn Smith (Kirkland Smith), Perry, Georgia, Arvie Ann Byse, Montezuma, Georgia, Catherine Nelson, Americus, Georgia, Melvin Garrett (Sylvia), Stone Mountain, Georgia; 33 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Byse and Alfore Byse (Shirley); three sisters-in-law, Katherine Sims, Montezuma, Georgia, Lizzie Smith, Atlanta, Georgia, Carrie Pearl Byse, Ideal, Georgia; six brothers-in-law, Jim Sims, Atlanta, Georgia, Fletcher Sims, Atlanta, Georgia, Herbie Fulks, Ohio, Paul Sims, Ellaville, Georgia, Lester Fulks, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Willie Clyde Sims, Ellaville, Georgia; aunt, Vannie Howard; devoted niece, Cathy Green, Ideal, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
