Mary Lou Stewart, better known to loved ones and friends as “Bunch”, was born in Oglethorpe, Georgia, February 20, 1928 to the late Dock Fields Williams and Smithie Cox Williams. She was educated in the Macon County School System and received Christ at an early age. On December 28, 1944, she married the late Robert Pete Stewart. To this union, three children were born. The oldest daughter, Martha Ann Stewart Troutman, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Melinda Troutman and Chandria Reynolds, and six siblings Rosetta McDonald, Tincy Mae Wiggins, Dock Edward Williams, Albert (Frog) Williams, Aris Williams, and Rufus Williams.
Bunch was a devoted member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Oglethorpe, GA joining in 1959 under the Rev. Paul Jones.
Bunch was a loving housewife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was a homemaker all of her life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking cakes for her family and friends. Bunch moved to Fairburn, GA in February 2014. She transitioned to eternal life on Friday, October 8, 2021.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, a daughter Willie Lue Mitchell of Fairburn, GA., a son Robert Thomas Stewart (Lillian) of Decatur, GA., one brother Moses Williams of Mableton, Ga.; six grandchildren, Melissia Motes, Cynthia Stewart, Angelia Simpson, Garrett Stewart Jr., Tiffany Harris (Donald) and Dashaye Price, fifteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, other relatives and friends.
