The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Union Baptist Church, Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia.
Mrs. Mary Lizzie Barnes Jolly, daughter of the late Mrs. Georgia Heath Kaigler and Mr. Henry C. Barnes. This bundle of joy came into their lives on June 13, 1928 in Montezuma, Georgia. Affectionately known as Missionary Barnes and Sister Barnes, she transitioned from this earthly life into the waiting arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 3, 2019 surrounded by her family.
Missionary Barnes Jolly received her educational training from the Flint River Farms School, where she graduated with her high school diploma. After graduation, she began employment with the Southern Frozen Foods, Inc., where she was a production employee for over forty years. Her Christian experience began in the First Salem Baptist Church, and later became a member of the Holy House of God, under the leadership of Bishop P. Davis. She was a truly dedicated and faithful member who served in every capacity, especially as Missionary and Sunday School Superintendent.
Mrs. Jolly is lovingly survived by four devoted children, Mr. Ernest Jolly, Jr., Montezuma, Georgia, Mr. David L. Jolly, Bessemer, Alabama, Ms. Cora Wynn Jolly and Ms. Marilyn Ford both of Montezuma, Georgia; three devoted cousins she assisted in rearing, Mrs. Ann V. Watkins (Bradley), Stockbridge, Georgia, Mr. Elijah L. Fobbs (Beverly), Austell, Georgia, and Mr. Maurice Williams, Montezuma, Georgia; one granddaughter, Musetta Moina Jolly, Dooling, Georgia, and two God grands, Kiara and Keyunte Leach, Doraville, Georgia; three great-grand children, Keyon, Malik, and DiQuan Jolly all of Dooling, Georgia; four loving sisters, Mrs. Aquilla Alston, Jasper Florida, Mrs. Queen Beal, Boston, Massachusetts, Mrs. Dorothy Barnes Miller (Lee), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Betty Barnes Martin, Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Mrs. Jolly is also survived by a number of loving and devoted nieces, nephews, church family member, and God families.
