The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, September 20, 2014 at New Beulah Baptist Church, 140 Wright Road, Cobb, Georgia. Reverend W.R. Campbell, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow at Sue Walker Cemetery in Cobb, Georgia.
Mrs. Mary Lee Morns was born December 28, 1953 in Cobb, Georgia to the late Anderson Ross and Maple Nelson Ross. She acquired her education in the public school system of Sumter County and was a 1972 graduate of Union High School, Leslie, Georgia. Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age.
In 1974, Mary was united in holy matrimony to Evans Morns Jr. After many years of dedicated services as a Food Service Technician, she retired from the Albany Transitional Center in Albany, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved husband, Evans Morns, Jr., Leesburg, Georgia; devoted daughter, Nikisha Morns George (Christopher), Americus, Georgia; two grandchildren Isis George and Kaden George, both of Americus, Georgia; stepson Evans Anderson, San Francisco, California; five step-grandchildren; siblings, Earnest Nelson, Desoto, Georgia, Andrew Ross, Alexandria, Virginia, Curtis Ross, Alamo, Georgia, Lucille Holley (Curtis), Belle Glade, Florida, Rosie Vance (Bobby), Patricia Crawford (Duane, Sr.), both of Desoto, Georgia, and Shirley Walton (Lee Marvin, Sr.), Americus, Georgia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willie Morns (Irene), Virginia Robinson (James), both of Albany, Georgia, Terri Ware, Leona Jackson, Anne Grant (Willey), all of Columbus, Georgia, Geneva Freenie, San Francisco, California; godbrother, Charles Ross, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
