Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 25, 2020 Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Elder James Lyles, pastor of St. Mount Elijah Primitive Baptist Church, Ideal, Georgia will officiate.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Margaret, better known as "Margaree,” was born October 29, 1932 in Macon County, Georgia to the late LaNora Bivins. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County. She was the wife of the late Eugene Harris; they were blessed with three lovely daughters.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jerry “Chico” Robinson and two sons-in-law, Scott Johnson, Sr. and Curtis Reese.
She was a member of the historic Zion Temple Primitive Baptist Church, Green Mill Rd., Oglethorpe, Georgia where she served as secretary and mother of the church. After the church closed she moved her membership to Saint Mount Elijiah Primitive Baptist Church of Ideal, Georgia where she continued to serve her Lord and Master and she also served on the church Committee.
On November 15, 1985 Margaret was united in holy matrimony to the late Marvin Hillmon.
After many years of dedicated services as a dietician, the school honored her in 1987 with a plaque for Loyal Dedication to the Macon County High School dietician.
Survivors are: three daughters and one son-in-law, Rashida M. Reese, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Mary (Jerry, Sr.) Robinson, and LeNora Johnson all of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Scott Johnson, Jr., Rashida Harris, and Kimberly (Dominque) Ward; fourteen great grandchildren include, Chloe Steel, Carley Taylor, Easton Harris, Tyrus “J” Robinson, Justin Young, Sherell Griffin, Keith Ward, Zachery B. Ward, Kayla D. Ward, Alexis Ward, Destiny Ward, Destiny Robinson, Najee Gaines and Alexis Gaines; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Delois Duncan and Edith Duncan, both of Eufaula, Alabama ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Georgia Ann Hillmon, Missionary Gladys Hillmon, Shirley Hillmon, James Hillman, Eddie Hillmon, Jr., Terry Hillmon (Barbara), Celessie Hillmon, Maryann Floyd, Gloria Hillmon, Larry Hillmon (Betty Ann); a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; including devoted cousins, the Tookes family of Oglethorpe and Atlanta, Georgia
