
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Burial will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery, 496 Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Maggie Ree Crump was predeceased by her mother Ms. Bennie Ruth Bell of Americus Georgia, her father James McDaniel of Sumter County Georgia, her husband Willie Crump of Americus Georgia her daughter Vecelia Bell of Sayreville, New Jersey her Sister Annie Ruth Westbrook of Newark, NJ
Maggie attended the Georgia public school system. At an early age she joined the Zion Hope Baptist Church. She moved to New Jersey in the late 1960’s where she found work at Merrimac Industries until retiring and moving back to Georgia with her husband Willie Crump. Upon returning she worked as a bus driver for Sumter County Board of Education until retiring in 2007.
Maggie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son William Crump (Angela) from the Union with her late husband Willie Crump. Her daughter Sharon Merrett of Newark, NJ (Butch) her grandkids Shuntae Hudson of Georgia Jevon Merrett of Georgia and Dorrell Merrett of Newark, NJ and Demetri Sr. Webster of Newark, Nasair Crump, Naseem Crump and Shadasia Crump all of Newark, NJ and their loving mother China Hill. Her great grandchildren Erin Merrett, Demetri Jr. Webster of Newark, NJ, Jaquan Merrett, TJ Hudson, Tyler Hudson and her road dog Nyla Hudson all from Georgia. Her sister Genie Mae Black of Americus Georgia. Two special nieces of Newark, NJ, Michon Crawford and Malissa Westbrook, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Her lifetime friend Cleave Murray also known as Cleo and the godmother to her only son William Crump.
