
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Shade Arnold Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery, Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM.
Mrs. Lula Mae Hart Walters was born October 7, 1936 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Lester Hart and Maggie Nelson Hart. Lula was preceded in death by three of her siblings: Betty Jean Hart Tookes, Laura L. Hart Bolton, and Lester Hart, Jr. Lula was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she attended the historic Ideal Elementary School and Macon County High Training School. On December 22, 1951 she was united in holy matrimony to W. L. Walters and to this union they were blessed with eight children.
Lula acquired her Christian training in the local churches of her community. After uniting in holy matrimony with her one and only love W. L. she joined the Rocky Mount Christian Methodist Episcopal Church of Garden Valley. Lula also worked at Southern Frozen Food, Inc. Montezuma, Georgia for a number of untiring years as a line technician and a vegetable grader.
She leaves a legacy of golden memories to her beloved husband and children: survivors are a beloved husband of sixty years, W. L. Walters, Montezuma, Georgia; eight children and their spouses, Ernestine (Rev. Johnny) Sanders, Andersonville, Georgia, Alice (Frederick) Jackson, Montezuma, Georgia, Willie L. (Shirley) Walters, Reynolds, Georgia, Mary Frances (Morris) Engram, Detroit, Michigan, Foster (Shonda) Walters, Warner Robins, Georgia, Lester (Louise) Walters, J. W. (Linda) Walters and Johnny (Helen) Walters all of Montezuma, Georgia; three siblings and their spouses, Shirley (Rev. Amos) Whitehead, Montezuma, Georgia, Eva Arnold, Cleveland, Ohio, Ruben (Lula Mae) Hart, Junction City, Georgia and Eddie (Fannie Bell) Hart, Ideal, Georgia. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law include, Lizzie Walters, Lucile Cook, Quida Walters, L. C. (Frances) Walters, R. L. (Doris) Walters, W. H. Walters all of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty one grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
TO THE FAMILY I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOST, EARTH HAS NO SORROW THAT HEAVEN CANNOT HEAL, KEEP THE FAITH THAT GOD IS STILL IN CHARGE. GOD NEED SOME MORE ANGELS IN HEAVEN WITH HIM SO HE CAME AND GOT MRS.LULA MAE....REST ON!

W.L. and children, my heart broke when I heard of Lula Mae's passing. So glad I got to visit with you both at Piggly Wiggly, New Year's Eve. She was a very loving person and I cherish my memories of ya'll when we lived in Garden Valley. Please know that you have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
