Lessie Mae Rackley Wilborn

Mrs. Lessie Mae Rackley Wilborn, age 62, 131 Dogwood Drive, Montezuma, Georgia passed Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 25, 2019 at Union Baptist Church, Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Champ Waters Cemetery, Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.

Mrs. Lessie Mae “Les” Wilborn was born July 13, 1957 in Montezuma, GA to Carrie Rackley and the late J.D. Rackley.  She attended the historic D.F. Douglass High School and graduated in 1975. She was married to the late Willie Frank Wilborn. She was blessed to be the mother of three wonderful children and three stepchildren.  She was preceded in death by two siblings, Betty Green and Burnette White; nephews, Tyrone Green, Jr., Adrian Gatewood, Maurice Turner; and great nephew, Omar McDonald.

Mrs. Mae “Les” Wilborn leaves a legacy of many fond memories to her beloved children, Celicia Thornton (James), and Rickey Thornton (Jade), Atlanta, Georgia, Wachovia Thornton (Mack), Macon, Georgia; two grandson, Kamari Thornton, Fairburn, Georgia, and Tyson Jackson, Atlanta, Georgia; six sisters, Elizabeth Turner, Atlanta, Georgia, Cecilia Marshall (Emmitt), Stockbridge, Georgia, Lula Rackley (Chris), Atlanta, Georgia, Zebbie Dell Rackley, Riverdale, Georgia, Judy Gable, Montezuma, Georgia, and Phyllistine Gardner (David) Marietta, Georgia; four brothers, Leonard Rackley (Lounell), J.B. Rackley, Curtis Rackley, and Donald Harris, Montezuma, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives, including devoted nieces, The’Kelia McGhee, Lakeshia Rackley, Zakiya Rackley, LaShundra Rackley, and Zikiyah Williams; devoted nephews, Kendrick White, and Arrion Rackley.

My deepest sympathy to the family for your loss. I have many childhood and adult memories of Les, having grown up
next door to the family. Les was a really sweet person, thoughtful, caring and a sense of humor. You will surely be missed!! May you Rest in Heaven!
