
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Bethesda Baptist Church, Forrest Street, Americus, Georgia. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Lavonne Hamilton was born April 3, 1948 to the late John Henry Hamilton and Susie Mae Hamilton in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. One son, Thomas Valentine, preceded her in death. One brother, John Wright, preceded her in death. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. She was a 1966 graduate of Staley High School. At a very early age, she joined the band of Christian believers at Bethesda Baptist Church where she remained until her demise. She was a member of the Culinary Ministry, Usher Board Ministry, Women Christian Fellowship Ministry, The Senior Citizens Bible Study Group and the Noon Day Bible Study Ministry.
After 30 dedicated years of service, she retired from Davison Bumper Company.
She leaves to cherish memories: a loving companion, Anthony Smith, Americus, Georgia; two loving and devoted children, Charalisa Valentine (Gregory Hubbard), Americus, Georgia and Torey Smith (Kenyada), Americus, Georgia; four loving grandchildren, ZyKeria Smith, Torey D. Smith, Kingston Smith and Antavious Hawkins; one sister, Johnnie Mae Burrell, Browns Mill, New Jersey; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, John Wright (Ursula), Americus, Georgia, Charles Burrell (Vickie), Texas and Beatrice McDaniel Jackson, Americus, Georgia; a host of other relatives and friends.
