The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday March 21, 2020 at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Mrs. Laura Ann was born March 8, 1943 in Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia to the late Bee Sanders and the late Maggie Ford Sanders. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Sanders and Retired SGT. Roosevelt Sanders. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she was a 1964 graduate of the historic D. F. Douglass High School. She acquired her certification in culinary and dietary cooking. She was employed with the Macon County Board of Education as a dietician at Macon County Elementary School Cafeteria where she retired after 25 years of dedicated services.
Laura grew up in the Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church where she joined and became a dedicated member until her health failed. She was the beloved wife of Deacon Willie Frank Harris and to this union they were blessed with three children; one son, Bryant O'Neal Harris, preceded her in death.
Laura was a member of the Baccheus Chapter O.E.S. No. 124. She served in various positions of the chapter star and offices.
Survivors are two children and their spouses, Felisha Harris Eskridge (Rev. Cosby Eskridge) and Steven A. Harris, Sr. (Deborah); stepson and his spouse, Tony Kaigler (Lee); three siblings, Elder Beatrice Sanders Gaines, Marie Sanders Spikes and Agnes Sanders Wright (Larry); six grandchildren, Candace, Taylor, Deborah Ann, Charidee, Steven A. Harris Jr. and Brandan; six great grandchildren, Sasha, Hailey, Steven A. Harris III, Camiron, Nolan and Avah; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earl Gene Harris (Jacqueline) and Mary McMillan; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
