Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Miracle Temple House of Praise, 602 Hoke Smith Ave, Ideal, Georgia, 31041. Burial will be held 12 Noon Monday, November 1, 2021, Green Acres Cemetery, 1485 Schatulga Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. LaSaun Ariva Hurt was born December 6, 1989 to Patricia Bradley and the late William E. Hurt Jr. She is preceded in death by her grandmothers Odessa McClendon, Sarah Hurt, and god father Carlton Wallace. She was educated in the public school system of Schley County and was a graduate of the class of 2008. She continued her education at South Georgia Technical College and received her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her employment ranged from Wal-Mart in Americus, Georgia Headstart, Program in Buena Vista, and Summer Lunch Program Claiborne Ministries. LaSaun was a faithful member of Miracles Temple House of Praise in Ideal, Georgia. She enjoyed playing speed, uno, and talking on the phone. She was joined in holy matrimony May 21, 2016 to Kenneth Dupree Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Kenneth Dupree Jr.; stepdaughter, Daeshia Whitehead; nephew whom she reared as her own William B. Johnson; mother, Patricia Bradley Bell (Willie); mother-in-law, Charlene Mitchell (Jerome); her riding partners grandmother Christine Mitchell and great aunt Mary Alice Miller; sisters, Amelia Pollock; her twin sister Walitta W.E. Johnson (Glenn), Forenda Rice, Virginia Jones; brothers Joshua Scarver (Alisha), Jamol Scarver (Jadee), Curtis Jones II; 11 nieces, 1 grand nieces, 12 nephew, 1 grandnephews; step mother Gloria Hurt; step father Curtis Jones; god parents Roger D. Sears (Sherry), Ariva Gilmore, Gewanda Parker, Randy Howard, Debra Perkins; sisters in law Martina Mitchell (Latron), Melanie Dupree (Carlton), Keyanna Mitchell (Keith); a host of aunts, uncles, grand aunts and uncles, cousins and friends including special friends Shantell Solomon, Cynthia Stone.
