The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the St. James C.M.E. Church, 215 Railroad Street, Marshallville, Georgia where Reverend Miracle Bass is pastor. Reverend Victory Johnson, Pastor of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Willow Lake Memorial Gardens, Willow Lake Road, Fort Valley, Georgia.
Mrs. Johnnie Mae Walton Rumph was born on October 6, 1932 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late John Thomas Walton Sr., and Ora Mae Hooten Walton. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Walton Jr., Willie James Walton Sr., and Jimmy Walton. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she graduated. While attending school she was avid basketball and baseball player. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian Believer at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marshallville, Georgia.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Jimmie Lee Rumph and to this union two children were born. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and caring for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Johnnie Louise Jones, Willie Mae Respress (Willie James), and Robbie Robinson whom she reared as her own all of Marshallville, Georgia; eight grandchildren; Jeffery Respress (Brandi), Ereiner Ellison, JaNice Respress, Dwayne Respress, Shiobhan Jones, Christopher Jones, Tamessia Robinson, and Dinetta Raines; twenty-one great grandchildren; fourteen siblings, Robert Lee Walton (Jimmie Lee), Fort Valley, Georgia, Rosetta Anderson, Tarrytown, New York, Connie Lane, Marshallville, Georgia, Edith Rumph, Hinesville, Georgia, Charlie Walton, Tarrytown, New York, Mary Lizze Warren (Albert), Fort Valley, Georgia, Georgia Mae Johnson and Billy Jackson (Ruthie Mae) both of Warner Robins, Georgia, Hattie Harris (Richie), Perry, Georgia, Buster Jackson (Catherine) and Charles Walton both of Marshallville, Georgia, Robert Jackson, Willie Lee Walton (Alma) and John Lee Walton (Rhonda) all of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends including Annie Ruth Rumph, Grace Pastor, and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church family.
