My condolences on your loss. Hadn't seen John in years and he came to my father's funeral in Mississippi just last month. It was so very good to see him. He was a member of our family and he will be sorely missed. Kay Moore

I am heartbroken to hear this news. Only 6 weeks earlier did John make the drive from his home in Georgia to attend my father’s funeral in Mississippi; my Dad, Coach Lloyd Moore, recruited John to Mars Hill College. John was so loved by my Dad, and Mom was so happy to see him again after so long. John, a dear, sweet man; gone far to soon. Rest easy, friend.

Sandy and I want to extend our condolences to John's family during this tough time. John was a true friend and will alway hold a special place in our hearts. As teammates, we experienced a genuine bond and share lasting memories from each year as our coaches worked to mold our team into a competitive unit. I will always cherish my time as a Mars Hill Lion and especially my lifelong friendship with John Patterson. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nycole, John III and the entire family.
