Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 19, 2022 in the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 41, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
John Murray was born April 12, 1946 to the late Carrie Lee Murray Wilson and the late Jessie Murray the 12th day April 1946 in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Jefferine Murray Sales, Mellee Best, Walter Murray, Emmitt Murray, James Murray and Willie Stanford Murray. He was a 1966 graduate of Buena Vista High School. He obtained his degree in culinary whereas he specialized in baking from the Warm Spring Educational and Rehabilitation Center, Warm Spring, Georgia. For several years he was the pastry baker at the Marriott Hotel, Courtland Dr. Atlanta, Georgia. After retiring John moved back to Buena Vista, his native home whereas he remained until his demise. He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved siblings which include Rebecca Murray, Everett Murray, Alzonia Wilson; two step siblings, Joseph Wilson and Sereatha Wilson; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
