Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Champ Waters Cemetery, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
John Henry Mann Jr. was born on March 12, 1946 to the late Reverend John Henry Mann Sr. and the late Alberta Rackley Mann. He had nine Siblings. He was born and raised in Montezuma, Georgia. He obtained his education in Macon County public school system. Our beloved one was gifted and skilled as a construction foreman. His love and passion for nature showed through his gardening techniques. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Personal savior and became a member of First Salem Baptist Church.
On June 2, 1972 he married the love of his life, Viola Smith Mann and settled In West Palm Beach, Florida. They were blessed with four children, Delphina Mann, the late John Smith Mann, Jarod Mann and Michael Hadley (Atlanta Ga.) John Mann lived an adventurous life he made presence known in any room that he walked in. His love for humanity and animals was admired by many. Fishing was his meditation, as well as his hobby. He enjoyed entertaining and cooking for his loved ones and friends. Mr. Mann displayed a Superior work ethic as he took pride in anything that he was set to do. His neighbors were dear to his heart; he loved them and they loved him. If You were a friend in need, he was your friend indeed. His thirteen grand and great grand children are a display of some of his Greatest accomplishments. On October 20, 2021 Beloved John H. Mann Jr. completed his earthly assignment. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” Left to celebrate his Legacy are: his loving and devoted wife, children, grand children and great grand children, three siblings, Mae Bertha Jones (West Palm Beach, FL.), Eirvin Mann (West Palm Beach, FL.), Earl Mann Sr.(Montezuma Georgia), three sister in laws, Betty Mann, Louella Mann, and Kathy Mann; Patrica Smith, Louise Smith, Robert Smith (Felecia) Donnson Smith (Cathy), of Montezuma Ga., Kimberly Thomas (Ted) Albany Ga. Preceded him in death father in law and mother in law Richard and Elizabeth Smith, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. A special cousin Troy Collier. A Special niece Javanka Smith and a special friend Dewayne Johnson.
