Jessie Joe Jones, Jr. age 64, 629 Sam Carter Rd., Reynolds, Macon County, Georgia passed Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Peach County Hospital, Fort Valley, Georgia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Corinth Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 127, Garden Valley, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Whitewater Road, Ideal, Georgia. Reverend Governor Gibson, Pastor, will officiate.
Jessie Joe Jones, Jr. was born October 14, 1948 in Ideal, Macon County, Georgia to the late Rosa Tookes Jones and Bat Jones. He was preceded in death by six siblings, Willie C. Jones, Morris Jones, Fred Jones Billie Jones, Kenneth Jones and T. J. Jones. Jessie was very talented with many skills. He was a tractor-trailer driver. For thirty years, he was in horticulture, while living in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a carpenter in housing construction while living in Warner Robins, Georgia. After returning to his native home, he was the handy man for his neighbors and friends.
Jessie accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Rocky Mount Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. Upon moving from Atlanta, Georgia he attended Corinth Baptist Church where he remained until his departure, which came on Sunday evening, March 3, 2013. He leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Danny Jones, Atlanta, Georgia, Jessie Joe Jones, Jr. and Bridgett Jones, Florida; three siblings, Georgia Jones, Reynolds, Georgia, Ernest Jones (Venus) and Melvin Jones all of Atlanta, Georgia: sister-in-law, Louvenia Bailey Jones; companion, Mary Jones; grandchildren, nieces, including a devoted niece, Frances Clark (Jessie); nephews, other relatives and friends.
