Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 5, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Jannie Mae Williams Smith was born November 9, 1937, in Macon County, Georgia to the late Bessie Peterson Williams and the late Willie B Williams. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Smith, and siblings, Willie B Williams Jr., Patricia Ann Williams, Mary Ann Joiner. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and attended the historic Flint River School. She was employed at Montezuma Health and Rehab Center. Jannie was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Henry Smith Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three children Willie Gene Smith, Atlanta, Georgia, Roy Smith (Deborah), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Gwendolyn Smith, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Timothy Solomon (Jessica), Courtney Smith (Cassandra), Lando Lowe, Swann Lowe, Loronda Smith, Demarco Smith, Roytavious Smith, Ciarra Smith; thirteen great grandchildren; three siblings, Mildred Johnson (John), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Betty Ann Williams, Montezuma, Georgia, Bessie Lee Williams, Montezuma, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Marlene Smith, Montezuma, Georgia, Angenette Smith, Montezuma, Georgia, Harmon Smith, Dooling, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends and Pearlie Fulks Family.
