The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Travelers Home Baptist Church, 903 Travelers Home Church Road, Ideal, Georgia. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
Jannie was born March 13, 1953 in Macon County to the late Willie Ervin Griffin and Marie Sturnes. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Hamilton, and siblings, Alma Griffin Golphin, Estee Griffin, and Sammie Griffin. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County and attended D.F. Douglass High School before going to Job Corps in Portland, Oregon. Jannie's Christian training came from the Rocky Mount C.M.E. Church in Garden Valley. She was employed with Southern Frozen Food as a line technician and Manhattan Shirt Factory as a Seamstress. She was joined in Holy matrimony to Nathaniel Hamilton, Sr. in 1973.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Nathaniel Hamilton, Sr.; children, Margaret Brooks (Donnie), Ellaville, Georgia, Willie Hamilton (Daphne), Bonaire, Georgia, Nathaniel Hamilton Jr., (Mattie), and Johnny Hamilton (Ramona), all of Ellaville, Georgia, Daphne Pina, Americus, Georgia, Shannon Hamilton, Ellaville, Georgia, Tyrone (Lakisha), Hamilton, Marietta, 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Fannie Mae Carter (Leroy), Jacksonville, Florida, Rosa Lee Perkins, Macon, Georgia, R.C. Griffin, Cordele, Georgia, Alvin Griffin, Jacksonville, Florida, Abraham Griffin, Oglethorpe, Georgia, her twin Johnny Griffin (Susie), Jacksonville, Florida, Leroy Griffin (Sonya), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Willie Griffin, Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Linton, Oglethorpe, Georgia, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
