Helen Snipes, age 60, passed on July 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, July 31, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Hwy 26, Montezuma, Georgia.

Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.

Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.​

Helen was born November 21, 1960 in Oglethorpe, Georgia to the late Iris Cosby Snipes and the late Eddie C. Snipes. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Terry Ann Snipes and Gladys C. Snipes. She acquired her education in the Macon County Public School System. received her diploma from Tier Free Academy in July 2020.  She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Allen Canning Inc. after 30 plus years of services. Helen enjoyed preparing delicious meals, fellowshipping with her family and close friends, being on social media, and traveling.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted son Julius Snipes, Oglethorpe, Georgia; Marcel McCants her nephew whom she reared as her own after the passing of her sister Gladys; four siblings, Bonnette McDonald (Deacon Charlie), Montezuma, Georgia, Gloria Montford of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Laverne Snipes, Montezuma, Georgia and Edward Snipes (Patricia), Warner Robins, Georgia; step-mother, Edna Snipes, Atlanta, Georgia; uncle Eddie C. Thornton, Montezuma, Georgia; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including devoted friends Verna Hayes, Tina Jackson, Jennifer McCants, Leola Griffin, Gloria Jean Quinn, Jeanette Wilson, Ronald Rucker, Mildred Oliver, Jeffery Jolly, Dennis Daniel, Wayne Mangram and the New Hope Baptist Church Family.
