
Memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 10, 2020 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Please also be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 to funeral chapel services or graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Mrs. Pierce was born October 6, 1939 to the late Willie Clyde Hudson and the late Gussie Mae Hayes in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County, Georgia.
She was married to Mr. James Lee Pierce and to this union they were blessed with four children. One daughter, Patricia Pierce Spencer, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pierce was a very talented person and served in every way she was needed. She was a day care nurse and a homemaker.
Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Mr. James Lee Pierce, Sr. Americus, Georgia; three children Mrs. Brenda Pierce Carter (Minister Roland Carter) New Jersey, James Pierce Jr. (Wanda) and Andre Pierce, both of Americus, Georgia; two sisters, Mattie Pearl McCoy (Clyde), Pennsylvania and Charlie Mae Hill, Americus, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Carter, Christopher Carter, James Pierce III, Amona Pierce, Shalona Carter, Sharey Carter and Roland Carter; two great grandchildren, A’Nyla and Roland III; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
