A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Frederick Jackson was born on May 8, 1953, to the late Catherine Patterson Porter. He was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Jackson, and one sister, Emma Jean Jackson. He acquired his education from the historic D.F. Douglass High School. He loved going fishing. He also enjoyed cutting the grass with his tractor and in the past, he really loved working on cars. Eventually he retired after 35 years of working at Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS).
Survivors include Alice Walters Jackson, loving wife of 49 years and two children, Amanda Jackson-Lewis (Jennifer) of Atlanta, Georgia and Cordell Willis of Montezuma, Georgia. Two grandchildren Alexus & Alailah Willis of Americus, Georgia and two great grandchildren. Three siblings Landis Ogburn, Donald Jackson of Montezuma, Georgia, and Bernice Barrett of New York. Sisters-in-law: Earnestine Sanders and Mary Engram. Brothers-in-law, Foster Walters, Johnny Walters (Helen), Lester Walters, J.W. Walters all of Montezuma, Georgia. A host of other devoted family and friends: Bobby Patterson and Keith Wicker, along with Ernest Stewart, Bobby Westbury, Marvin Brown, Robert Smith and Arthur Jackson.
