The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 13 2019 at the Union Hill A.M.E. Church, Spivey Street, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellaville, Georgia.
Fletcher Harvey Sims was born April 24, 1969 in Ellaville, Georgia to the late Annie Myrtice Sims and the late Horace Bodie. Fletcher was the youngest of twelve siblings. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Henry Sims, Jr., Vincent Jerome Fulks, Annie Jean Byse, and, Burnnie Mae Nelson. He was educated in the public school system of Schley County School System and was a graduate of Tri-County High School. Following graduation, Fletcher moved to Florida where he became a brick mason. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Melody Baker Sims. After 10 years of living in Florida he relocated to Atlanta where he continued to work as a brick mason. Fletcher was well known and loved by many he also enjoyed traveling, cooking on the grill and baking cakes.
He is survived by his sisters, Lizzie Mae Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Katherine Sims (Hubert) of Ellaville, Georgia; brothers, Willie Clyde Sims of Ellaville, Georgia, Lester Joe Fulks of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Paul Fulks of Ellaville, Georgia, Herbie Fulks of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim Sims (Pamela) of Atlanta, Georgia; three aunts, Verdie Lee Fulks, Mary Alice Miller, and Christine Mitchell, all of Ellaville, Georgia; two uncles, Bobbie Fulks (Henrietta) of Ideal, Georgia and Willie James Fulks (Essie) of Ellaville, Georgia; a loving and devoted companion, Sharon Foster of Atlanta, Georgia and her children, Tameka Foster, Tanesha Goolsby, and Tierra Goolsby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
