I was shocked to hear the passing of my Cousin. I can remember him as a little boy living with his grandparents. Mr. & Mrs. Bow and Mamie Hubbard, whom I loved dearly. Eugene, told them that he was going to marry me when he grew up..
LOL. Cousin Mamie, would say," You can't marry your cousin." He's gonna be greatly missed. Rest on Cuz

One of the most difficult things to do is write an ending post to someone you recently spoke with that had so much hope for life. I saw Eugene a few months ago when I went home, and I recognized him before he did me. He and I talked for a long time. He shared many things with me, and we both shared life stories with each other. He told me that his entire life/time in school he respected me so much (never saw that one coming). I told him how I appreciated that. Then I told him that I remembered him loving the color blue and yellow or at least wearing them a lot…..he looked down, and noticed he had on blue, we both burst into the loudest laughter. I thanked Eugene for sharing his stories with me, and for being an awesome classmate. He asked me “how do you remember me being an awesome classmate”? I responded “because I don’t remember you ever making me feel sad or harassing me in anyway”, he smiled. As we were leaving each other, we gave each other a hug, when under his hat. I noticed that he still had this thick hair that he has always had, and I acknowledge that. He laughed, and said to me, “you never forget anything, but little did he know I forget a lot of things, but thank God on that day, I remembered who he was. I was so happy to see Eugene in his final days get to enjoy his family, visiting with his family, and just enjoying life. When I received the news of Eugene’s sickness, I think the selfish part of me wanted him to pull through so maybe I had a chance to hear him laugh, or share a story with me just one more time. And although that was my hope, and those were my prayers, it wasn’t God‘s will or Eugene’s will to continue on this path. And so I say now take your rest, Eugene, and perhaps now blue is your forever color🙏🏽
