There will be a wake service, Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler St., Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 240, Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
Mrs. Estella Wilcher Davis was born November 11, 1914 to Zachary and Jannie Wilcher in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husbands Clarence Dixon and William Davis and six siblings, Eula, Ruby, Lillia, John, Joshua and Walter. She was educated in the public school system of Schley County. At an early age, she joined Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church.
Estella was always a person that would keep busy. In her lifetime, she has owned and managed a farm, gas station, a well-recognized record store, and a grocery store.
She leaves many cherished memories with her children: Bertha Francis, Murray Davis (Traci), Milton Dixon, Felton Davis, Aldean Davis, Lennon Davis, William H. Davis, Jr., Robert Davis (Annie Lara), Lonnie Davis, Grady Paul Davis, Vertistine Cubbage (Willie), Betty R. Davis, Bonnie Lockhart, Jr., Emma Lockhart and Hattie Jamerson (Joe); 57 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends which include Cousin Mary Washington, great niece, Merrilee Wilcher-Rainey, Mrs. Ferguson and Ms. Baldwin.
