The graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Emily was born February 24, 1957, to the late John W. Patterson Sr. and the late Fannie Clara Lucas Patterson. Born in a family of six children, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Willie Patterson Jr., Grant William Patterson and James Davis. Emily was educated in the public school system of Macon County whereas she was a 1975 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. Emily was reared up in the Bethel A.M.E. Church with her parents and siblings. She later had a new awakening in Christ Jesus and joined the Montezuma Church of Christ. She grew to be a dedicated member and supporter of every facet of the church she loved so well.
She leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to her family which include: three loving sisters and their spouses, Jelverlyn Patterson Cole (Gerald), Sanford, North Carolina, Annie B. Hannor (John), East Point, Georgia and Francis Ellis, Montezuma, Georgia; A host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and her church family.
