The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 110 McDuffie Street, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Providence Church Road, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Elonzo was born January 16, 1960, in Buena Vista, Georgia to the late Roseanna Robinson and the late Charlie Prather Sr. He was preceded in death by siblings Betty Walker, Doris Perry, Henry Prather, Charlie Mae Robinson, and Steven Daniel. He was educated in the public school system of Marion County. He was employed as a truck driver for various trucking companies.
He leaves to cherish his memories to three children Elonzo Walton (Nakia), Aryel Walton, Dayja Walton; six grandchildren, Ny’Quavius Walton, Ny’Darious Walton, Ja’Coria Walton, Hailey Walton, Kash Walton, Kiara Walton; siblings Willie Prather (Eddie Rene), Charles Prather Jr. (Carlesa), Barbara Green, Elvira Trice (Richard) Brenda Prather, Thad Prather (Jeanette), Dandra Taylor, Rosie Moon, Mary Shorter (Keith), Stephanie Stickney (Bruce), Verlene Smith (Sidney), Gail King, Marybeth Daniel, Tory Daniel (Joann); uncle L.C. Robinson; aunt Loretta Storey Ernestine Simmons; sister in law Verdell Prather; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
