Edna Bridges, age 78, 307 Geneva Road, Buena Vista, Georgia passed Sunday, October 1, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 7, 2023, at St. Paul C.M.E. Church, 4369 Georgia HWY 26, Buena Vista, Georgia. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Edna Lee Bridges was born October 5, 1944, in Buena Vista, Marion County, Georgia to the late Mack Bridges and the late Missouri Woods Bridges. She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Henry Bridges, Gloria Bridges, Callie Mathis, Dorothy Robinson, Julia Nelson, Clark Bridges and Sarah Jackson. She was a 1962 graduate of Buena Vista High School and a member of Saint Paul Christian Methodist Episcopal Church whereas she served on the Usher Board Ministry and supported every facet of the church she loved so well.
After many years of dedicated service she retired as a deboner with Tyson Foods, Inc. of Buena Vista.
She leaves behind a loving husband of 30 years Joseph Blakely. She leaves a legacy love and many fond memories to her daughters who nurtured and cared for her, Andrea Bridges Sanchez (Aaron) and LaDonna Bridges Palmer (Chris) all of Buena Vista, Georgia; six loving and caring grandchildren; Antonio, DeMonta, Ashonta, Christian, Torrance, Jr. and Kinsley; two siblings, Hoyle Bridges, Atlanta, Georgia and Mary Lois Good, Detroit, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
