Dorothy Ann Oglesby, age 68, 14421 Pierce Street, Miami, Florida passed Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Jackson South Memorial Hospital, Dade County, Miami, Florida.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Union Baptist Church, Norris Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Whiteline Street, Montezuma, Georgia.
Dorothy Ann Oglesby was born May 13, 1943 to the late Iona Colzie Oglesby and Council Oglesby in Macon County, Montezuma, Georgia. She received her education at D. F. Douglass High School. She joined Union Baptist Church at a young age and remained a member until she moved to Miami, Florida in the early 90’s to care for her ailing mother.
Ms. Oglesby, a devoted mother and grandmother loved preparing meals for her family.
She leave to cherish her memory, three daughters, LaTrice Ross (Antonio), Monica Langhorne, and Iona Hudson (Darrel); one brother, Rick Joiner (Annette); 7 grandchildren, Brandi Boyd, Gregory Ross, Jonathan Ross, Erykah Echols, Brian Rogers, Samantha Hudson and Michael Hill; nieces: Lutrina Shelton and Nicole Joiner; nephews, Ronald Cotton, Eric Cotton and Jonathan Joiner, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
