The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at New Hope Baptist Church, Georgia Highway 26 East, Montezuma, Georgia, where Reverend Allen Waters is pastor. Reverend Eric D. Hurst, Senior Pastor/Teacher, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
Ms. Harvey was born February 1, 1943 to the late Cato Harvey Sr. and Mae Ida Felton Harvey; three siblings preceded her in death Robert Phillips Sr., Kato Harvey, Jr., and Hossie Harvey, Sr. She acquired he education in Montezuma, Georgia from the historic Flint River Farms School and D.F. Douglass High School. After high school graduation, she attended Beauty School in Atlanta, Georgia.
After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, she became an active member for many years at the Historic Mount Moriah Baptist Church. There, she served as a member of the Usher Board, the choir, and other ministries.
As a young adult, she had a career in Cosmetology. Later in life, she was employed for approximately 30 years with General Motors, Inc. from which she retired.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Grady F. Brown, Bonify, Florida; two grandsons, Pierre D. Williams, Tucker, Georgia and Princeton D. Williams, Norcross, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Camren C. Hampton, Bella Williams, and Persia D. Williams, all of Lithonia, Georgia; her brother, Johnny Lee Harvey (Pearlene), Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving relative and friends.
