The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Friendship Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia. Bishop Melvin McCluster, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.
Deborah Elaine Turner, born May 17, 1958, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 11, 2016 at Piedmont Fayetteville Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Arthur Adams and Mrs. Geneva Turner, as well as her niece, Ms. Chisa Dunn. She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and was a 1976 graduate of Americus High School. At an early age she confessed Christ as her personal Savior and joined the band of Christian believers at Friendship Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia. For over 19 years she was employed with Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, Georgia as a CNA until her health began to fail.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two devoted daughters, Ms. Jamisha Wright, Americus, Georgia and Chanel Christmas, College Park, Georgia; father, Herbert Turner, Albany, Georgia; stepmother, Louise Adams; one sister, Kim (Eddie) Dunn, Americus, Georgia; one brother, Herbert DeMorris Tuner, Albany, Georgia; stepbrother, Henry Williams, Union City, Georgia; two nieces, Tia Dunn, Americus, Georgia, LaKenya Turner, Riverdale, Georgia; three nephews, Frederick Banks, New Orleans ,Kelvin Turner and Jamar Turner Riverdale, Georgia; six grandsons, Nicholas Walton, Kanova Willoughby, Quevoluia Willoughby, Marion Willoughby, Chance Wright, and Kayceon Leverette; two granddaughters, Zaniyah Christmas and Kiamora Leverette; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
