The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 23, 2018, St. James C.M.E. Church, 215 Railroad Street, Marshallville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Colonel Felton Cemetery, Marshallville, Georgia.
Deacon T.J. Barner Jr., was born September 13, 1930 in Marshallville, Georgia to the late T.J. Barner Sr. and Nonie Jackson. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, the late Bertha Mae Barner; a daughter, Mittie Petty; a grandson, Gregory Bearden, Jr.; and three siblings, Claude Barner, Sr., Larry Barner, Sr. and Lawrence McGhee. He was educated in the public school system of Macon County. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully on the Deacon Ministry. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #297. He was employed with A.C. Gas Services for many years as a Repair Technician.
He leaves to cherish his memories: fourteen children, Mary Crocker, Freddie Bryant (Essie), Annette Simons, Melvin Jones (Diane), Easter Mae Jones, Sandra Cosby, Blanche Porter (Fredrick), Mary Ann Colbert, Olivia Frazier (Anthony), Terry Barner, Thomas Brad Barner (Gloria), Valerie Johnson (Lyndon), Wynelle Spivey (Bobby), and Jurusha Moss (Andrew); 28 grandchildren; a host great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Vertis Fuller, Joyce Askew, Imogene Barner, Robert T. Barner (Betty), James T. Barner (Bertha), Hamp Barner, and Roger Barner; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
