The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in the sanctuary of First United Holiness Church, 324 Engram Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Burial will follow in the family plot at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 9607 River Road, Byromville, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. A Time To Be Born Mr. Louis James Fudge, of Montezuma, Georgia; formerly of Miami, Florida departed his earthly home on Thursday, January 5, 2023. A voice was silenced as Heaven rejoiced awaiting his arrival with our Lord and Savior. Louis was born to the parentage of the Late Lewis Fudge and Dolly Hall Fudge, on December 19, 1942, in Dooly County, Georgia.
Life of Deacon Louis James Fudge Uncle James, so affectionately called by all that knew him throughout Macon County, attended Dooly County Training School-Drayton, Georgia. He furthered his studies later in life with various courses of study in Miami, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia, where he gained many useful skills. Deacon Fudge was a dedicated and faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, serving under the leadership of the late Rev. Governor Gibson. Deacon Fudge loved working in the Church and took pride in making sure everything in the Church was ready for service on Sundays. He worked many long days, as an independent contractor with Dunn Construction Service.
We Love You Uncle James Uncle James enjoyed sports (Miami Dolphins) his favorite NFL Team, collecting coins, antiques and was a distinguished man of many talents. Uncle James never meet a stranger. He cared for the citizens of the local community tremendously. Providing shelter to many that had fallen on hard times, provided many youths and adults with rides to work, doctors appointments and just going for leisure rides. Uncle James made sure all his family knew how much he loved them on every occasion and that love was reciprocated.
His Legacy of Love Louis was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life; the former Sandra Green of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for 12 devoted years. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted siblings who are all resting with our Lord and Savior. Mary Ellen Fudge, Eddie Fudge, Sr., Sammy Lee Fudge, Ola Fudge Royal, Amelia Fudge and Lucille Fudge Williams. His loving Daughter, Shonda Newton (Ronald Newton) of Green Acres, Florida. Grandchildren; Brittany Terry-Woonfatt (Brian) West Palm Beach, Florida, Kendall Woonfatt and Marketta Newton, Green Acres, Florida.
His Extended Family A legacy of beautiful nieces that loved and celebrated him also survived: Seabright Royal, Dollie Royal, Annie Liard, Lequida Royal (Fred), Shirley McGrit (Tommy) and Michelle Royal, Rev. David Thomas, Sr. (Lille) Arlena Dunn, Annie Lois Brown, Vanessa Fudge Kendall, Willie F. Fudge, Sr. (Marilyn), Peggy L. Fudge and Leon Fudge (Carmen). A loving and devoted Nephew that he loved as his Son; Tavares Turner. Loving and devoted Friends; Armie Dunn, Henry Dunn, Ben Laidler, Bo Cosby and Johnny Walters, Jr. A host of many devoted loving family, friends and adopted family also survive the late Deacon Louis James Fudge.
