
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Living Word Ministries, GA Highway 26 West, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Ebenezer Rd, Buena Vista, Georgia.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Deacon Golden was born in Preston, Webster County, Georgia September 11, 1959, to the late Samuel Golden and Ruthie Minion Golden. He was educated in the public school system of Preston and Marion Counties. He acquired his high school GED from the Job-Corps of Albany, Georgia. After graduating from the Job Corps, he moved back home whereas he obtained a job with Tyson Food Inc. He retired after 20 years of service in the Live Hang Department division of Tyson. He was a member and Deacon of Living Word Christians Ministries.
Deacon Golden was blessed to be the father of six children, one daughter preceded him in death, Deena Michelle Garmon Hawkins. He was preceded in death by five siblings, Margaret Thornton, Emma Golden, Geneva Thornton, Julia Holt and Willie Golden. Survivors are a beloved wife of seventeen years, Ruby Garmon Golden, Ellaville, Georgia; six children, E. J. Golden, Jr. (Tierrica), Thomaston, Georgia, LaKeith Marcus Golden, Texas, Jessica Latrice Golden, Atlanta, Georgia, Derek Garmon (Kizzie), Tameka Golden , Columbus, Georgia and Jaquie Garmon; twelve grandchildren; six siblings, Matilda Golden Irving, Richland, Georgia, Annie Innals, Carolyn Robinson (Jackie), Buena Vista, Georgia, Robert Louis Golden, Preston, Georgia, Ossie Neal (Jerome), Lanover, Maryland and Hosie Golden (Peggy) Cusseta, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives , and friends.
