Deacon Dan Hollis, age 73, 3579 U.S. Highway 19 South, Ellaville, Georgia, passed on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1908 Dozier Road, Ellaville, Georgia. Rev. William Laster, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

Deacon Dan Hollis was born to the late Tucker Hollis and Amzie Tookes Hollis on March 29, 1937 in Ellaville, Schley County, Georgia. He was educated in the Schley County Public School system. Reared in a Christian home, Dan acknowledged the Lord early in life and kept to His word. He was a devoted member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church family and served faithfully on the Deacon Board.

He now joins those who were called before him - his parents; siblings, Charles Hollis, James Ferrell Hollis, Kenneth Hollis, Juanita Hollis Thompkins, and Clarence Hollis; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Renee Johnson Hollis; and nephew, Thomas Wayne Hollis.
