Daisy L. Westbrook, age 91, of 207 Byrd Street passed on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 167 Harper Sub Road, Americus, GA, in the home of her devoted grand-daughter and caregiver, Tammy Williams.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church, 411 Cotton Avenue, Americus, Georgia.  The pastor, Bishop Melvin McCluster, will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Ashby Street, Americus, Georgia.  The remains will be laid in state from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service.

Daisy Lee Westbrook was born March 29, 1926 to the late Annanias Westbrook and the late Minnie Martin Westbrook in Leslie, Sumter County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by two sons, Alphonso Westbrook and Johnny L. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved family and the community at large which include her two surviving children, Minnie R. Westbrook and Dan W. Westbrook both of Americus, Georgia; nineteen grandchildren three of whom she reared as her own, Tammy Williams and Dwandelyn-Hall (Elder Shelby) and Dawn Westbrook all of Americus, Georgia; Angela Foster, Valerie Porter (Eric), Corene Westbrook-Milledge, Andre Westbrook, Lorenzo Walters, Allison Carter, Joyce Carter, George Carter, Jr. (Sandra);  Kelsey Westbrook, Shonda Phelphs (Robert),  Johnny Westbrooks, Jr., Ananias Westbrook (Sharon), Simone Westbrook, Amber Westbrook, Christian Westbrook, Brandon Ellis, Miay Westbrook; thirty-eight great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a host of beloved nieces and nephews including two devoted nieces, Bessie Jackson and Bennie Jackson;  a host of loving cousins including Virgirie Thomas and Philaphine Logan, Gloria Lewis- Franklyn, and James Martin; four daughters-in-law Berdia Winn, Ora D. Westbrook, Nancy Westbrook and Veronica Arline; a devoted grandson GeoVante Carter; a devoted god-son, Robert Dudley, (Ernestine); god-daughter Kennedy Johnson; a host of beloved friends including Lillie Smith, Margaret Mathis, Alberta Rowell and Selma Smith; two devoted caregivers,  Alice Muff and Cornelia Sims.

Ms. Daisy will be remembered for her kind and loving ways. May the peace of God rest with you. I knew her as a neighbor who exemplified Christ's commandment "That we love our neighbor as ourselves". She lived that command.

My best friend has earned her wings and gone to a better place. God allowed me to be with you in your finest hour when you heard our Almighty God said "thou good and faithful servant well done, come on home and I will give you rest" This is the most difficult thing I ever had to face in my entire life. But you taught Madea, trust in the Lord. Nothing is to hard for God. I miss you so much already. I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you for eternity!!!💔💕
Your baby girl, Tammy

To The Family, God never intended for man to suffer the pain of death. 1 Corinthians 15:26 says, "And the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing." Almighty God is going to remove death forever. What a wonderful future hope. Take comfort in knowing this. Please look forward to the fulfillment of Revelation 21:3,4. Please be assured Jehovah (Psalms 83:18) will comfort you during this most difficult time.

I am very sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in your precious memories of Miss Daisy and in the Scriptures. (2 Tim. 3:16, 17; John 5:28, 29).
