Mr. Curtis “Doll” Barron, age 54, of MLK Jr. Drive, Montezuma, Georgia passed Saturday, July 27, 2013.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia. Reverend Hosie Waters, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Andersonville National Cemetery Rostrum, Cemetery Road, Andersonville, Georgia.

Mr. Curtis “Doll” Barron was born July 11, 1959 in Montezuma, Macon County, Georgia to the late Ruby Lee Patrick Barron and the late Austin Asbury. He was educated in the Macon County public school system and was a 1978 graduate of D. F. Douglass High School. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joined the band of Christian believers at Magnolia Baptist Church. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after four years of dedicated services. His awards and certificates include Installing Ground Antenna Equipment (RC-292), Certificate of Achievement Desert Shield & Desert Storm, Counseled Vocational Tech, M.L. Educational Program, Tactical Wire Operation Specialist (36K10) from USA Signal Ct. & Ft. Gordon, Georgia, Primary Leadership Development Course for Reserve Components and 2nd Army Noncommissioned Officer Academy

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearlie Mae Green, Lavivian Barron and Geneva Patrick; two nieces, LaMonica Smith and Takiya Patrick; one nephew, Thomas Patrick; stepfather, Jack Barron; and a brother-in-law, Willie Green.

Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers James Barron, Chicago, Illinois, Wayne Barron (Myra) Montezuma, Georgia; three sisters, Linda Adams, Montezuma, Georgia, Sara Butler (Stacey), Daly City, California, Gail Walker (Robert), Montezuma, Georgia; one stepsister, Shirley Hall, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nephews including eight devoted, Timothy, Kenneth, Christopher, Clifford, Rayshon, Marquis, D’Quinton, and Kyron, all of Montezuma, Georgia; a host of nieces including three devoted, Charlene, Donica, Charliea, all of Montezuma, Georgia; one devoted cousin, Marcel of Montezuma, Georgia; and a host of other nieces, nephews, loving cousins and friends.
