Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Please also be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Corine “Tee” Harris Griffin was born on March 22, 1935 in Macon County, Georgia to the late Booker T. Harris and the late Clara Tookes. She was preceded in death by her two sisters Willie Mae Hankerson and Hannah Tookes. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Garden Valley where she served on the usher board. She was employed with Southern Frozen Food in Montezuma, Georgia. Corine was also a homemaker she loved cooking, sewing, fishing and spending time with her family.
Corine was joined in holy matrimony to the late L.J. Griffin and to this union seven children were born, one daughter preceded her in death Clara Regina Griffin.
She leaves cherish her memories: six children, Gilbert (Mary) Harris, Ideal, Georgia, Joyce Griffin (Samuel) Jones, East Point, Georgia, Cynthia Griffin (Lorenzo) Patterson, McDonough, Georgia, Michael Griffin, Ideal, Georgia, Bobby R. Griffin, Atlanta, Georgia, and Shelia Griffin (Leon) Davis, Americus, Georgia; five grandchildren, Keysha Harris (Stephen) Knights, Locust Grove, Georgia, Trae Jones, East Point, Georgia, Samuel J. Jones, East Point, Georgia, Phaedra Griffin (the granddaughter she helped to rear), U.S. Army, and Jessica Davis, Americus, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Eli Knights, Ethan Knights and Elliott Knights; one sister Learel Chisholm, Quitman, Georgia sister and brother-in-law, Beulah Griffin, Ideal, Georgia, James Mathis, Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews , cousins, other relatives and friends.
