A wake service will be held 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc., 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at First Salem Baptist Church, 191 Twin Church Road, Montezuma, Georgia where the Reverend Jeffrey Randle is pastor. The Reverend Coley Clark Jr., Pastor of Zion Grove Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Clara was born May 10, 1963 in Perry, Houston County, Georgia to the late Wallace Williams, Sr. and Clara Maude McKenzie Williams. She accepted Jesus Christ at an earlier age and joined First Salem Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia. She attended the Public School System of Houston County and Dooly County and was a 1981 graduate of Vienna High School, Vienna, Georgia. Following graduation, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and attended Branell Business College receiving a diploma in Business Administration. While in Atlanta, she was employed with Wal-mart and Georgia Tech.
In 1995 Clara moved back to Oglethorpe, Georgia to be closer to her family with her pride and joy, her only child, Neisha Hudson. Clara quickly found employment with the Macon County Tag Office and it was there she would met her latest employer.
Clara started working at the Meadows’ Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. in January 1998 as the Executive Secretary; she worked faithfully for 18 years. She also worked part-time at Wal-Mart in Perry, Georgia for the past seven years. Her parents and grandparents, Mr. Daniel C. and Mrs. Ceola T. Williams, Mr. Manuel and Mrs. Maude Dean Miller McKenzie, and one brother, Mr. Wallace Williams, Jr., preceded her in death.
She leaves a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories to her devoted daughter, Neisha Camille Hudson, Perry, Georgia; her precious and devoted granddaughter, Nyla Cymone Evans, Perry, Georgia; three loving and devoted siblings, David L. Williams (Teresa), Henderson, Georgia, Douglas Williams, Snellville, Georgia, and Marcus Turner (Stefanie), Oglethorpe, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Edward Pryor Atlanta, Georgia, Elton Pryor, Marietta, Georgia, Lula Pryor Stokes (Thomas), Oglethorpe, Georgia, Gloria Pryor Green, Oglethorpe, Georgia, Linda Pryor Woodard, Warner Robins, Georgia, Willie Ruth McKenzie, Atlanta, Georgia, Manuel Little (Beverly), Macon, Georgia, Lizzie McKenzie King, Macon, Georgia, Lillian Williams Rochester, New York; Rev. Lawrence Williams (Luna), Perry, Georgia, Rev. Adam L. Williams (Irene), Decatur, Georgia, Carrie W. Childs (Rev. Edward), Atlanta, Georgia, and Sara P. Scott, Miami, Florida; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, Latasha, Leon, Shaneka, Jasmine, Doug Jr., Monica, Ta’Niya, Carmel; great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends; including a devoted friend, Frances Dexter, and the owners and staff of the Meadows’ Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc., Meadows Funeral Home of Albany, Georgia, and Meadows Mortuary of Atlanta, Georgia.
