Mrs. Christine Hinton, daughter of the late Henry Smith and Essie Mae Preston Smith, was born December 21, 1947 in Montezuma, Georgia. She transitioned into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday May 20, 2021 surrounded by the family she loved so dearly.

Christine was educated at the old historic Flint River Farm School and D.F. Douglass High School. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Willie Jessie Hinton, and from this union seven children were born. One infant son, Patrick preceded her in death along with five siblings, Annie Ruth Barnes, James Smith, Henry Smith, Emmitt Smith, and Pearlene Harvey. She retired from the Macon County School system after thirty-two years of dedicated service. She also worked and provided selfless service to the Flint River Hospital for many years. Christine was a devoted member of the Second Salem Baptist Church, Montezuma, GA.

Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated friend who never met a stranger. She had an infectious personality and always made everyone around her feel special. She took great pride in her yearly Christmas display that brought joy to many in the community.

Christine leaves precious memories to be cherished by her devoted and loving children: Deon (Toni) Hinton, Belton, TX, Tonya (Kim) Mendez, Fort Polk, LA, Timothy Hinton, Belton, TX; Stacy Luster, Belton, TX; Angela Hinton, McDonough, GA; Shadrick Hinton, Montezuma, GA: fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; her siblings: Lucille (Johnny) Cullen, Miami, FL, Merlene Smith, Montezuma, GA, Herman (Daisy) Smith, Byromville, GA. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

We love you auntie.
But God loved you more.
And because of Jesus we have hope beyond the grave.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV
[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
