Chiquita Thomas, age 34, passed on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia.
The funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel Inc, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Chiquita Monique Thomas was born February 1, 1983 in Newark, New Jersey to Curtis Thomas and Cheryl Ashmon Thomas. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Pearline Thomas and Oscar Caldwell, Sr.
Monique, as she was commonly known by family and friends, was educated in the public school system of Macon County and she also attended Job Corps in Albany, Georgia. At an early age she confessed Christ as her personal Savior and joined Shade Arnold Baptist Church, Montezuma, Georgia. She was employed as hostess at a local seafood restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children Mar’ion Ross, Khristan Wooten, and Markese Fanning; a mother, Cheryl Ashmon Thomas; a father, Curtis Thomas (Sharon), Irvington New Jersey; two siblings Ja'Quiche Thomas (Tiffany), Warner Robins, Georgia, and Kurtis Thomas ( Shaquana) Oglethorpe, Georgia; grandparents Claudia Ashmon Montezuma, Georgia and Willie Ashmon, Jr. (Marie), Orrville, Alabama; aunts/uncles Arnold Ashmon (Donna), Covington, Georgia, Daryl Ashmon (Machell) Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Valarie Lewis, Orrville, Alabama, James Feagin, Montezuma, Georgia, Linda Burden, Warner Robins, Georgia, Evelyn Thomas, Albany, Georgia, Marilyn Shanks, Deborah Caldwell, both of Decatur, Georgia, Tony Caldwell(Peggy), Atlanta, Georgia and Oscar Caldwell Jr., Oglethorpe, Georgia ; a host of other relatives and friends.
