Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 20, 2020 at Colonel Felton Cemetery, 502 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates to limit the number of attendees at all services at this time. We are limiting the number of attendees to no more than 10 at the funeral home chapel services and graveside services. We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
Ms. Carolyn Winston was the daughter of the late Frankie Felton and the late Carl Winston; she was born October 8, 1948 in Marshallville, Macon County, Georgia. Carolyn united with the Saint James C.M.E. Church in Marshallville at a very young age; she served in the music ministry. She was a graduate of D. F. Douglas High School in 1966; following graduating she moved to Yonkers, New York where she stayed for many years. She returned back home and enjoyed the rest of her life; to know her was to love her. She was proud to say good morning to everyone. She had a giving heart and she would give you her last dime. She enjoyed music, singing, and dancing. Carolyn was preceded in death by two children Harvey Winston and Janet Winston. She departed her life at the Heart of Georgia Hospice on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. The Battle is over and the victory his been won.
She leaves to cherish her memories a son Derrick Spencer, Bridgeport, Connecticut; two grandchildren, Amahry and Camdel Spencer; sisters, Brenda W. Edwards, Marshallville, Georgia, Annette Simons, Hawthorn, California, Sandra Griffin (Ivey), Alliance, Ohio, Juanita Triplett (Tony), Kent, Ohio; brothers, Carlton Argo Winston (Joyce) Byron, Georgia, Ronald Winston, Houston Texas; aunts, Lucille Poindexter, Alliance, Ohio, Caura Felton Johnson, Chicago, Illinois, Mildred Zackary, Alliance, Ohio; a devoted friend for 40 years, Mr. Lonnie Spencer; devoted cousins, Vernon McDougald, Sandra Stinson, Sandra Battle, Shirley Rice, Charles McGhee, a host of nieces and nephews, a lifelong friend Mr. Robert Jones and other relatives and friends.
