The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, 114 Johnson Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia, where Reverend Norris is pastor. The Reverend Dr. George Porter, pastor of Shade Arnold Baptist Church in Montezuma, Georgia will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oglethorpe City Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Carol was born March 24, 1971 to Minister Phillip Wayne Fowler and Connie Fulks Fowler in Ellaville, Macon County, Georgia. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she was a 1989 graduate of Macon County High School. She pursued a degree in nursing at South Georgia Technical College of Americus, Georgia. She also attended Georgia Post Standard Training Center of Forsyth, Georgia.
In 1995, she obtained a job with Macon State Prison where she was a Sergeant. She was employed with Macon State Prison for twenty-one years. Carol accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined the Shady Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. David Thomas. She served faithfully as a Secretary of the Shady Grove Baptist Church Sunday School Ministry. Carol can be describe as a giving and joyous person. She loved her children with unconditional love. She had a beautiful smile that capture the love of others. She was an awesome person.
