Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Colonel Felton Cemetery, 502 South Street, Marshallville, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Calvin Lamar Jones Sr., affectionately known as “Ice Cream”, The Man with many flavors, was born on January 3, 1971 in Peach County, Georgia to the late Jacqueline and Fred Jones. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Frederick and Janice.
Calvin was educated in the public school system of Peach County. He was a faithful employee with the Houston Hardware and Garden Center of Bonaire Georgia, later extending his career with the Georgia National Fairgrounds of Perry, Georgia.
Calvin will be remembered for his multiple skills and talents but of his many skills taught by his grandmother. Fishing was at the top of the charts; morning, noon, night, or in the rain, Calvin was going fishing. He was also an awesome griller and cook. You name it, he was at his best at whatever he did.
Calvin joined Kelessa Alexander Jones into Holy Matrimony in 2015 into this union one son was born Javion.
On May 2, 2021 Calvin departed this life and was set free to soar to heaven and earn his wings with our Heavenly Father.
Those who are left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life include a wife, Kelessa of Byron, Georgia; four sons Calvin L. Jones Jr. (Kaneiya) of College Park, Georgia, Rashun and Rashad Jones both of Warner Robins, Georgia and Javion Jones of Byron, Georgia; three grandsons, Karcen and Brycen Jones of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Antwan Webb III of Byron, Georgia; two step children, Antwan Webb Jr. and Jada Harris both of Byron, Georgia; one brother, Kirk L. Jones (Wanda) of Hamilton, Georgia; two sisters, Etherine Jones-Ellison and Catherine Jones–Jackson both of Marshallville, Georgia; a mother and father-in-law, Mr. Wilbert and Betty Alexander of Roberta, Georgia; three nephews, Lamar, Isaiah, and Joshua; three nieces, Sherrell, Janice, LaTori; three great nephews, Jeremiah, Noah and TJ; one great niece, Jazzlyn; two aunts, Amelia Cosby of Atlanta, Georgia, Alice Wolmack of Warner Robins, Georgia; two uncles, Joseph Cosby (Dorothy) of Atlanta, Georgia, Levi Cosby (Pearl) of Cibolo, Texas; a host of loving cousins and friends.
