Booker Timothy Edge, age 72, passed on September 13, 2021 at Piedmont Midtown Medical Center, Columbus, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 18, 2021, Lebanon Cemetery, Archery Road, Plains, Georgia.
Please be mindful that we will adhere to all government recommendations and mandates at all services at this time. We are limiting graveside seating to no more than 10 with masks being strongly encouraged. Other masked attendees are welcomed but will be expected to practice social distancing.
Graveside services, including burials, are likely to be held on ground that is uneven, which is out of the control of Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. We ask that you take this into consideration when choosing footwear, such as shoes with high, thin heels. Please be advised that Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, Inc. will not be held responsible for injuries at a grave site because of this.
Booker Timothy Edge, better known as “Tim,” was born March 5, 1949 to the late John Claude Edge and Maggarie Schley Edge in Plains, Sumter County, Georgia. He was educated in the public school system Sumter County. He was employed with Redman Trailer Company of Richland, Georgia. He later worked and retired from the City of Ellaville after 37 years of dedicated services. Booker accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Lebanon Baptist Church of Plains, Georgia. He was joined in holy matrimony to Carolyn Aldridge in September 16, 1968.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 53 years Carolyn Edge, Ellaville, Georgia. He was blessed to be the father of three children; Timothy Lynn Edge, Leslie, Georgia, Walene Edge Hart (Wayne), Ellaville, Georgia and Jermaine Edge, Fayetteville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jakim Williamson Hart, Columbus, Georgia and Ceirra Watts, Leslie, Georgia; three siblings Eugene Edge (Naomi), Marjorie Thomas and Bertha Battle all of Plains, Georgia; sisters-in-law Minnie Monford, Columbus, Georgia and Neppie Lee Slaughter, Moultrie, Georgia, Julia Edge, Plains, Georgia; a beloved godson, James Collier, Butler, Georgia; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
