A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Oglethorpe Funeral Chapel, 607 Kaigler Street, Oglethorpe, Georgia.
Bobette was born on January 18, 1952 in Ideal, Georgia to the late L.D. Hinton Sr. and the late Nina Turner Hinton. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Kenneth O’Neal Hinton, Willie Jessie Hinton, L.D. Hinton, Jr., and Bonnie Hinton. She was educated in the public school system of Macon County where she graduated from the historic D.F. Douglas High School. She furthered her education at Georgia Southwestern College majoring in Social Work. Bobette worked with Magnolia Manor as a CNA and Activity Director, State of Georgia Quality Enterprise as a Mental Health Counselor, and Counseling of Aging as a Data Entry Clerk. She was married to the late Nathaniel Shields.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted daughter, Debretta Hinton-Middlebrooks (Bobby), Warner Robins, Georgia; four grandchildren, Nina Tierra McCrary, Morris McCrary, Jr., Devinci Sanders, Vintavious Sanders; four great grandchildren, Amya, Elijah, Leia, and Karter; three siblings, Doris (Dee) Powell, East Point, Georgia, Carl Hinton (Natalie), College Park, Georgia, and Rubie Hinton Patrick (Freddie), Decatur, Georgia; sisters in love, Christine Hinton, Montezuma, Georgia Ozella Hinton, Ellaville, Georgia; aunts and uncle, Vurla Mae Terry, Atlanta, Georgia, Herbert Turner, Albany, Georgia, Shari Turner, Gainesville, Florida, and Edith Turner, Miami, Florida; a host of nieces, and nephews other relatives and friends including a devoted friends Willie C. Chambers of Americus, Georgia.
